The
Southeast's largest learning and networking opportunity for
green building, Greenprints 2003, becomes part of a full week
of green events
Atlanta - January 27, 2003
Greenprints: Sustainable Communities by Design
educates and provides networking opportunities for the building
and design community in a bigger way this year. Having more
than doubled in size since its inception in 1998, this year's
conference will attract even more people to an entire week
of events.
Green Week is a full week of activities including
an Energy Modeling Workshop Feb. 11, a Solar Power Design
Workshop Feb. 12, the Visionary Dinner Feb. 12, the Greenprints
Conference and Tradeshow Feb. 13 and 14, the Eco-Charrette
Design Workshop Feb. 14, and the Residential and Commercial
Eco-Atlanta Tours Feb. 15.
The 2003 Greenprints Conference includes two
new tracks, including one dedicated to commercial buildings
and another dedicated to changing the marketplace with green
products and services.
On Feb. 13 and Feb. 14, the "Introduction to
LEED" (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) track,
sponsored by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), brings
experts from around the country to explain the LEED process
during six different sessions.
The new "Tradeshow" track featuring Green Building
materials, products and services also has educational sessions
inspiring builders, developers and designers during the two-day
conference.
In addition, the four other topics for presentation
tracks include Urban Ecology & Sustainable Communities, Ecological
Design & Construction, Renovating the Process: Old & New Tools
for Eco-Solutions and Greening Your Business & Government.
The 2003 Greenprints conference includes 35
sessions led by more than 70 practitioners and visionaries
committed to changing the way we think about architecture,
energy and transportation in the 21st century. Greenprints'
advanced how-to sessions and workshops provide tools to help
design teams achieve sustainable goals.
Greenprints fosters the Southface mission to
promote sustainable homes, workplaces and communities. The
conference presents quality learning opportunities for those
'new' to being green and advanced practitioners of green building.
Greenprints provides a dynamic forum for design and construction
professionals to interact with experts, discover alternatives
and implement solutions that will guarantee an ecologically
sustainable future. For more information on all of the Green
Week activities and to register for events, go to www.greenprints.org.
