GREENPRINTS PROVIDES HOMEOWNERS WITH FIELD OF LEARNING AND NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES

Atlanta - January 29, 2003

From finding ways to reduce utility bills to helping design walkable communities, Greenprints provides learning opportunities for environmental experts as well as general homeowners. At the Hyatt Regency Atlanta this year, the February 13 and 14 Greenprints: Sustainable Communities by Design conference fosters the Southface Energy Institute mission to promote environmentally sustainable homes, workplaces and communities. The idea of sustainable communities permeates all Southface events, from the Visionary Dinner Feb. 12 to the Alternative Fuel Vehicle Show Feb. 14.

In an evening co-hosted by Southface and the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, the Visionary Dinner relays a message of sustainability. Fetzer Vineyards President Paul Dolan talks about his company's innovative business strategies. Also, founder of the Worldwatch Institute, Lester R. Brown, gives a keynote message about linking the environment to the health of the economy.

The largest green building conference in the Southeast, Greenprints includes presentations demonstrating how businesses can positively affect their bottom line by being more environmentally conscious.

With 80 product, service and material exhibitors the Greenprints Green Tradeshow has a new feature this year-a track of educational presentations. These sessions occur both days of Greenprints and include topics such as healthy interiors and energy efficient lighting strategies.

During the closing reception at Southface, 241 Pine Street, Greenprints participants can ride in vehicles from the Alternative Fuel Vehicle Show at 5:30 p.m. on February 14, at Southface.

Southface is located in midtown Atlanta and promotes sustainable homes, workplaces and communities through education, research, advocacy and technical assistance. For more detailed information about the Conference, Tradeshow and other events, visit www.greenprints.org.
